Hans Damsgaard is Managing Director for OFS Denmark, responsible for Specialty Photonics.

Mr. Damsgaard has been at OFS Denmark, including its preceding owners (NKT, NKT/AT&T (LYCOM), and Lucent Technologies), since he graduated in 1981. He started his career in NKT as Research Engineer and later became Project Manager at LYCOM in 1987. In 1989 he became Manager for Research, Development and Engineering at Lucent Technologies Denmark with business responsibility for Specialty Fiber. From 1998 – 1999 he held a Director position at Lucent in New Jersey with global responsibility for Specialty Fiber Devices. He continued his career as Executive Vice President in OFS Denmark, and since 2001 he has been Managing Director.

Mr. Damsgaard graduated with a M.Sc. Physics from the University of Aarhus in 1981 and finished his Ph.D. thesis on optical fibers from the Technical University of Denmark in 1984. In 1987 he completed his Diploma in Economics and International Management from Copenhagen Business School. Mr. Damsgaard is an external examiner at the Technical University of Denmark and board member of OFS Sviazstroy-1 – an OFS cable joint venture in Russia. He is married with one child and lives in Copenhagen.
